In 1959, this model was replaced by the ES 330. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eI’m particularly fond of the P90 in the middle position. It offers the “bite” of a bridge pickup but sounds much warmer. By experimenting with the volume and tone knobs and your picking position, you can get a wide variety of sounds from this guitar. The intonation is also spot-on.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eBecause the ES 225 is a relatively affordable 1950s Gibson, these guitars are often used for parts for more expensive Gibsons. Fortunately, this ES 225T has remained beautifully original: the truss rod cover, knobs, pots, tuners, and dogear P90 pickup are all original.\u003cspan\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eWhen I bought the guitar, it didn’t have its original bumblebee capacitor, but I sourced an original ’50s bumblebee and installed it. The lacquer has a slight crackle and some dents on the back, but otherwise the lacquer is in very nice condition. The pickups, pots, pickguard, tuners, etc. are all original. The only thing that has been replaced is the neckplate.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eOn the back of the headstock and body you will find a ‘special’ stamp. You don't often come across these stamps, especially on the body. Guitars with this stamp were often used for guitar fairs or were a special order. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eThis 12-string is perfectly set -up and intonated. With the 4-way rotary switch, you can select the pickups (neck, bridge and both) and in the last position, the pickups are out of phase. It sounds beautiful. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan lang=\"EN-US\"\u003eI bought the guitar from the second owner who traded it in the 1980s.
