A stunning 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior, the final full year of the single cut Junior.
These Juniors are more versatile than you might expect. by experimenting with the volume and tone knobs, and adjusting your touch, a surprising range of sounds can be drawn from this guitar. This is a particularly resonant example, with a notably full and warm voice and a pleasing bite. The P-90 measures 8.63k ohms. You’re very welcome to come and try it for yourself.
The guitar is in great condition, with no cracks and a fully original finish, free from overspray. The bridge, plastics, etc. are all original. At some point, different tuners were fitted, but the correct Kluson tuners have since been reinstalled. The pickup has been replaced with an original late ’50s Gibson P-90. The strap buttons are period-correct, though not the originals.
There is a small chip to the finish next to the bridge post which has been fixed. This is not a crack (as is sometimes encountered on pre-1957 Juniors).
The guitar comes in a nice, though non-original, ’50s soft case.
