Chances are you’ve never come across an Epiphone Windsor before, and for good reason: only 221 were ever made, and production ran exclusively between 1959 and 1962.
The Windsor is a thinline hollowbody guitar, comparable to the Epiphone Sorrento or Gibson ES-125T, but with a slightly more upmarket feel thanks to its oval inlays, gold hardware, ‘bikini badge’ logo and a New Yorker pickup.
The New Yorker is a single-coil pickup that delivers a warm, open tone and is smoother and more mellow than a P90.
The neck is similar to the 1960 Gibson profile: a bit slimmer than the chunkier ’50s necks, but still with enough substance to feel solid in the hand. It plays beautifully, helped by its low action and spot-on setup.
This example is in excellent, original condition with no notable damage, cracks or overspray. Only the tuners have been replaced.
The guitar comes in a vintage (but non-original) black case.
