1960 Fender Jazzmaster
1960 Fender Jazzmaster
A stunning Jazzmaster from Fender's golden era. This Jazzmaster was built in 1960 in Fullerton, California, and is still fully original.
The guitar features all the desirable pre-CBS specs, including a slab board rosewood fretboard, clay dots, 'spaghetti' logo, and black-bottom pickups.
Over time, the red in the sunburst finish has almost completely faded (likely due to sunlight), leaving it with an almost 2-tone sunburst appearance—arguably one of Fender's most beautiful colors!
This guitar is untouched and 100% original. If you'd like photos of the neck pocket, pots, or other details, let me know.
The finish is in great condition with a beautiful weather checking. Naturally, there are a few dings here and there, and a some of the neck’s finish has been played off. Under blacklight, the guitar lights up beautifully, although there is one small spot on the underside that was corrected with a marker.
This Jazzmaster sounds incredible—very "woody" with more sustain than you'd expect from this model. The low action and medium C neck make it a joy to play. Come and try it out! The original frets are a bit on the low side but still perfectly playable. If you'd prefer a refret, I can arrange it with one of the luthiers I work with.
The guitar comes in its original brown Fender case with orange lining.
