This Epiphone Olympic was built in 1964 at the legendary Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

All Epiphones were produced by Gibson until 1970, and this is clearly evident: the Olympic is virtually identical to a Gibson Melody Maker (only the headstock has a slightly different shape). The same wood and electronics were used, and they were crafted by the same luthiers.

The guitar is highly resonant and has plenty of volume even when unplugged. When plugged in, the single coil sounds much fuller than you might expect, with a nice ‘bite’.

The neck is quite chunky, comparable to a Gibson neck from the late 1950s. The nut width is 43 mm (1 11/16”), just like all Gibsons up to 1965.

The guitar is in great condition and, except for the tone capacitor and nut, completely original. The original case is also included.

Feel free to come and give it a thorough test. Worldwide shipping is also available. Have questions or want more photos? Don’t hesitate to get in touch!
