Great Gibson Les Paul ’58 Reissue (R8) from the Custom Shop. What immediately stands out about this example is the weight (just 3.75 kg!), the dark rosewood fingerboard and the flame top.
The guitar is very resonant and produces plenty of volume when played unplugged. The neck pickup sounds very open and full, without becoming muddy. The bridge pickup has a hint of Telecaster character, but sounds larger and fuller than a Tele.
These ’58 Reissues are known for their chunky ’50s neck profile. This example also has a fairly substantial neck, though not as hefty as some other ’50s reissues I have played.
The guitar is in mint condition and has only a small mark on the back of the neck (see photo). It comes in the original brown Lifton case, including the certificate and all accompanying booklets and tags.
The previous owner purchased this Les Paul from the Gibson Demo Shop in early 2025. Unlike many guitars sold there, it is not marked ‘demo’ on the back of the headstock or elsewhere on the guitar.
