The workhorse of jazz guitarists: the Gibson ES-175. This particular example dates from 1951 and, despite its age of 75(!), is still in very fine and largely original condition.

This Gibson sounds so good acoustically that you almost forget to plug it in. Very dry and woody, with plenty of volume. Plugged in, however, it truly shines: the P-90 sounds warm, open and is very versatile, especially when you experiment with the volume and tone controls.

The guitar has a medium neck with a rounded C profile, is set up with a set of flatwound strings, and plays very comfortably.

Apart from the tuners and the knobs, the guitar is completely original: original pots, P-90 pickup, bridge, frets, nut, etc. The guitar also comes with its original brown Lifton case with pink lining.

Worth mentioning: on an ES-175 the rosewood bridge normally sits loose on the body, but on this guitar the bridge was glued in place at some point in the past. Fortunately, the intonation is perfect. There is also a small lacquer chip on the side of the body near the tailpiece mounting (see photos).

Do you have any questions or would you like to see more photos of the guitar? Feel free to get in touch. The guitar can be shipped worldwide, but you are also very welcome to come and view and try it out in The Hague.
